About Afronoia

Afronoia means "African mind" and essentially originates from "Noia," a suffix meaning "mind," and "Afro," which stands for Africa. The platform aims to bring the ideas and stories of influential African intellectuals and icons into the public spotlight, while also showcasing how these thinkers addressed contemporary issues through art, music, literature, and philosophy. Currently, we have two series. The "book review" series is dedicated to reviewing books that are hard to access, and a second series, "Thinking the present from the past," reflects on contemporary issues from the perspective of past African thinkers and figures.
